Greetings! I'm Andy Pope, and this is my Music Transcription website.
"What's that?"
The essence of music transcription is that a customer provides us with a sound recording, and we in turn provide the customer with a sheet music transcription or arrangement of that recording, tailored to the individual needs of the customer. This transcription will not only be harmonically and melodically accurate, but it will also be presented in legible, professional form -- not unlike the published sheet music found in music stores or purchased online.

"How are you different than any other muscial transcriber? Don't you all use the same software?"

There are various software programs available, but because I have a perfect pitch, hearing the notes and placing them manually on a template resembling sheet music is less than half the procedure involved in this craft. Arguably, that's the easy part, so such software would really not be of assistance. After that, the piece has to be divided into pages, systems, measures and staves. The stems and beams have to be formed to the most pleasing lengths and angles. Expression marks need to be right-sized and out of the way of other marks of expression or dynamics.

The music sheets you will recieve from me will show a level of professional standard of craftsmanship. This is a human skill. Machines are only tools to that end. If you're not convinced, take a close look at the samples on the site and notice their pleasing composition. The notes are not just jumbled together in a random form, but rather, with artistic care and percision.

"Suppose I have a recording of me playing and singing a song I wrote, using guitar and voice only. Can you arrange it for an entire band? Or add back-up harmonies? Or a horn section? Or string section?"

This falls into the area of arranging, which is a service I am also happy to provide. Arranging fees are a bit greater, and the turnaround time distinctly longer. The cost of an arrangement might run you anywhere between $48/page to $96/page or higher, depending on the type or arrangement you have in mind. You will be provided with a detailed table of rates upon request, explaining the justification or our pricing system, in order to keep things as fair as possible for all concerned.
